The villages of Salla

Salla has around 30 villages scattered around it’s vast municipality. The villages present hiking and nature destinations, war history and sights.

For example, the village of Kotala is the discovery site of the world’s oldest ski, approximately 5,000 years old, and Aholanvaara is home to some of the world’s largest giant’s kettles.
