Sallainen Caravan

The caravan village at Sallatunturi fell is a caravan camping site surrounded by magnificent fell scenery. The area is located right at the foot of Sallatunturi fell, on the shore of Keselmäjärvi lake. Both the slopes and ski and hiking trails can be easily accessed directly from the yard. Keselmäjärvi lake offers the experience of being on the waterfront, with fishing, boating, and swimming. There is a beach next to the camping area and an outdoor fire pit, freely available for the guests.

The camping area has a clean and functional service building, separate saunas for women and men, as well as a private fire pit, a fireplace room, and a café at the reception.

Sallainen Cottages

The idyllic Sallainen Cottages can be found right at the foot of the Sallatunturi fell, 100 m from the nearest ski lift. The cottages have a separate bedroom for two, a kitchen, a living room, and a sauna. Some cottages have sofa beds, which can be used as extra beds. Each cottage has its own lockable space for storing skis and other things, as well as a separate room with a vice for waxing skis.

Erittäin Sallainen customer promise

We protect our pure nature so that during your holiday you will continue to breathe the cleanest air in the world and enjoy the fresh water. At Erittäin Sallainen, we help you with tips and strong practical experience with how to behave in nature. It is a matter of pride for us to sell kampanisu and other local pastries to enjoy with coffee, which are baked by our neighbour, the Keloravintola restaurant. The products sold at the reception are also local products and all come from north of the Arctic Circle.

We also take care of our common climate. We use 100% renewable electricity and our district heating is produced in Salla with bio-pellets. The temperature of the cottages is lowered to the basic maintaining level when not in use. All of this contributes to reducing emissions.

We recycle efficiently. We have recycling sorting points for diverse waste for our customers to use and during the summer season we also have a compost available. We collaborate with the municipality and local entrepreneurs to make bio-waste sorting available here in Salla.

Our entire business is based on tourism that respects nature. We will give tips on where to find local berries, nearby trails, and hunting terrain. We offer Salla’s fresh well water on tap. In our Itäkota (traditional Lappish hut restaurant), open during the winter season, you can enjoy our homemade doughnuts or local Kursulainen bread with salmon from Naruska. In addition to food, our reception and Itäkota restaurant serve local history and interesting stories from Salla.
