Salla Ski & Active
The slopes of the Salla ski resort challenge many level skiers. The slopes are in top condition and there is no need to wait getting lifts. The starters and children will be served by a new versatile activity area and a family slope in front slopes. For those who need challenge and speed, there is black slope, which is favorite of FIS racetrack from Alpine teams in their training camps.
Along the front slopes is a versatile ski service house with equipment rental and equipment maintenance, as well as a ski school. Under the same roof is also the Sport Shop and a café.
Ecologically by electric car and electric fatbikes
Biking with a fatbike is a great new way to enjoy nature all year round. You don’t have to sweat to ride the electric fatbike to admire the scenery from the top of the fell. Fatbike cycling is also an ecological way to experience Salla’s true wilderness, as our fatbikes are charged with eco-certified energy.
You can also go on holiday without a car, as in Salla you can hit the road with an electric car charged with EKO energy. The electric car is purchased for shared use and can be rented cheaply from the Salla Ski & Active.
Summer
Salla Ski & Active will not close its doors in the summer. There are guided tours and hikes to Sallatunturi and the surrounding area. In addition to cycling, our rental equipment includes: play frisbee golf, angling and SUP-bording. Also worth a try are our adventurous trips on electric fatbikes.
Salla Ski & Active customer promise
Salla’s nature is in our hearts and we work in humble collaboration with it. The snow made for our slopes uses the water from Keselmäjärvi lake. In the spring when the slopes melt, the water flows back into the lake, which means that we only borrow it for a short while. Our snow cannons operate with 100% renewable Ekoenergy certified electricity, and in the main building we use environmentally friendly geothermal energy.
Pure spring water flows from our taps and you can enjoy it freely in our shop and fill up your water bottle. The café’s pastries are made locally and about one fourth of the souvenirs are from local or Finnish suppliers. In our shop, you will also find sustainable sportswear, for example, from our own ecological collection.
Sorting points can be found by our three firepits, as well as at the departure station of the slope. The firepits also have instructions about which garbage you can burn and which you cannot. We transport the plastic packaging and cardboard from the store to be sorted. You can leave the sales packages of the products you bought from us at our shop for recycling. This will reduce waste and we recycle the waste created into raw materials.
In the middle of your activities, you can borrow an electric car from us and cruise around emission-free, even as far as the shops at the village of Salla. You can also find bicycles from our selection that work with either muscle power or electricity. Our electric bikes are charged with 100% renewable Ekoenergy, just like the electric car.
The Salla Ski & Active has achieved an Ekokompassi certificate for its operations.
